Suspect involved in landlord's murder killed
A third suspect allegedly involved in the kidnapping and killing of landlord Hassan Nisar Nizamani was shot dead in police encounter late Friday night.
A patrol party of Tando Yousuf police was engaged in an exchange of fire by some suspects on Bhatti Goth link road, according to a spokesperson for the force. A suspect, identified as Sher Muhammad Mallah, alias Sheru, was killed during the gunfight but his accomplices escaped, he said, claiming that Mallah, who was booked in at least 10 FIRs in Hyderabad including attempted murders and a murder, was part of the gang who had kidnapped Nizamani from Hyderabad on October 11.
Nizamani was killed during a raid conducted by Hyderabad police in Shikarpur district for his recovery on Oct 24. Later, On Nov 7, another suspect who also allegedly belonged to the gang responsible for the landlord's killing was eliminated in a police encounter.
The spokesman had claimed that Abdul Wahab Veesar was killed and Abdul Qadir Siyal was captured in a raid conducted by cops of three police stations in Rahuki area. A taxi driver, blamed by police for transporting the kidnapped person, Aijaz Babbur, was shot dead by police when they raided a place in Shikarpur for recovery of Nizamani.
The kidnappers had reportedly demanded a ransom of millions of rupees from Nizamani family. The landlord was a second citizen of Hyderabad to have been kidnapped and allegedly killed by dacoits in Larkana division within a month.
