Govt once again manages to end teachers' protest

After assurances from Arbab Sher Ali, the teachers ended the sit-in with reservations

PESHAWAR:

The provincial government, once again successfully managed to dodge the protesting teachers through Member National Assembly, Arbab Sher Ali, after which they ended the protest sit-in and closure of schools in the name of successful negotiations.

After assurances from Arbab Sher Ali, the teachers ended the sit-in with reservations and started departing to their respective areas.

On November 5, teachers from all over the province held a protest by closing all primary schools and staged a protest sit-in near Jinnah Park in Peshawar for upgradation, which continued for five days.

During these five days, the government neither held negotiations with the teachers nor visited the sit-in to address their demands.

On the third day of the protest, the Education Secretary made an attempt to negotiate with the teachers at his office, which ended in failure. On the fourth day of the protest, MNA Arbab Sher Ali approached the protesting teachers.
