Sindh sees 22% surge in tax revenue for October

The month’s tax revenue reached Rs21.159 billion, up from Rs17.413 billion collected in October 2023

Sindh recorded a 22% increase in tax collection in October compared to the same month last year, as reported by the provincial chief minister’s spokesperson.

The month’s tax revenue reached Rs21.159 billion, up from Rs17.413 billion collected in October of the previous fiscal year.

This increase reflects the province's ongoing success in meeting its tax goals. Over the course of the current fiscal year, total collections in Sindh reached Rs83.863 billion as of October, marking a 20% rise compared to the Rs69.728 billion collected by this time last year.

The Sindh government attributes this growth to improved management and efficient collection efforts, dismissing claims that the Sindh Revenue Board failed to meet targets.

Officials underscored that these results demonstrate the board’s effectiveness in boosting provincial revenue through strategic policies.

The province’s enhanced tax collection is seen as a positive economic indicator, bolstering its ability to fund development projects and public services in the coming months
