SHO, constable injured as police kill four robbers in Lahore encounter
In a reported shootout between police and robbers in Green Town, Lahore, four suspected robbers were killed on the spot, while three others managed to escape.
The encounter left Green Town Station House Officer (SHO) Khurram Shehzad and a constable injured.
According to police sources, the shootout erupted as police exchanged gunfire with the robbers in the Green Town area.
SHO Khurram Shehzad and the constable sustained injuries during the incident and were immediately transferred to a hospital for initial medical treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area, calling in additional personnel to assist with the search for the escaped suspects. Currently, over 20 police mobile units are stationed at the scene to secure the area and prevent further incidents.
On September 8, an alleged criminal, who martyred a police constable, was killed in a crossfire with the police in the Lambi Dheri area of Sikandar Abad.
Police sources said that 28-year-old Constable Shahzeb was martyred, while Constable Ehtesham Rafiq was injured during a police operation against the outlaws in the area on Friday.
Sikandar Abad police registered a case under sections 302, 353, 324, 189 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and 7-ATA and began a search of the accused.
The sources said that Hazara DIG Tahir Ayub Khan formed a special investigation team headed by Abbottabad District Police Officer Umar Tufail to arrest the alleged killer.
The special investigation team traced the alleged killer namely Ahsan of Lambi Dheri with the help of technical facilities and reached "Bui de Gali "to arrest him. A crossfire took place which led to the killing of Ahsan. The body of the accused was shifted to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
Police claimed the recovery of a number of pistols and cartridges from the possession of the accused and registered a case under sections 353 and 324 of the PPC against the accused.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayer of the martyred police officer was performed at the police lines headquarters. Hazara DIG Tahir Ayub Khan congratulated DPO Umar Tufail and his team and announced certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for the entire team.
