Power protest causes hours-long traffic jam

Deprived of water and power, the locals of the Baloch Colony area, staged a protest on the Baloch Colony Flyover on Friday evening.

Severe traffic jam caused citizens to suffer for hours in discomfort and frustration.

Residents of the area said that they are protesting against prolonged load shedding and lack of piped water supply. The protestors said they will end the blockade only after the supply of electricity and water is ensured. The administration successfully negotiated with the protestors and assured the supply of water and electricity, on which the protestors left the road. However, the flow of traffic took many hours to get back to normal.

On the contrary, the spokesperson of K-Electric claimed that the protest on Baloch Colony Flyover has nothing to do with them as the electricity supply in the area was normal.
