"Wow. Poor Hawaii. Wait until he realizes that Hawaii is under the same President," one user commented.

Following Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election, a TikToker made waves with a video announcing his decision to “leave the U.S. and move to Hawaii” due to the election results.

In his post, he stated, “Okay so since Trump won the election, we’re cooked y’all. I’m gonna be leaving the U.S. and I’m gonna be moving to Hawaii. So, we’ll see how it goes, and I’ll update you guys.” The video quickly went viral after being shared by Charlie Kirk, who reposted it on X, triggering a storm of responses.

“Who’s gonna tell him?” one user remarked, alluding to the fact that Hawaii is a U.S. state under the same administration.

Another user added, “Wow. Poor Hawaii. Wait until he realizes that Hawaii is under the same President,” while others commented on the lack of geographical awareness, with one saying, “This is why we need to improve education.”

Meanwhile, Hawaii Governor Josh Green, speaking at a Democratic event before the election results were official, expressed concerns about Trump’s potential return to the White House. “And at the end of the day there is a right and there is a wrong. And we have to remember that if the country makes a mistake — and it would be a mistake to put a person like Donald Trump back into the White House — we have to remember that there is an absolute, at times, to fight for people, to care for people.”

Green also voiced worry for his teenage daughter’s future, saying it’s hard to imagine “a president who has such little regard for women” in office.

Trump’s win saw him secure both the popular vote and the electoral college, while Harris claimed Hawaii’s four electoral votes, marking the tenth consecutive Democratic win in the state.
