K-P targets socio-economic improvements in merged districts

Apex committee decided to provide packages to the families of 178 martyrs who lost their lives in the past six months

The Apex Committee for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) convened in Peshawar on Thursday, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. The meeting was attended by the Corps Commander Peshawar, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and other senior civil and military officials.

The forum agreed on the need to improve the quality of life for residents of the merged districts, focusing on socio-economic development. It was resolved to allocate more financial resources to accelerate social development in these areas.

Additionally, the committee reaffirmed the commitment to continue collaborative efforts among the civil government, security forces, and local communities to combat terrorism in the province.

An important initiative proposed by the CM aimed to support the families of security forces’ martyrs was also approved. The committee decided to provide packages to the families of 178 martyrs who lost their lives in the past six months.

Furthermore, the committee committed to exploring all available options to maintain law and order in the Kurram district while ensuring the safety and security of residents.
