BTS' J-Hope shares post-military life with fans, embraces Halloween and LA culture in style

BTS' J-Hope returns with a bang, exploring LA after military service and reconnecting with fans through social media.

After completing his mandatory military service, BTS rapper J-Hope, or Hobi as fans affectionately call him, took his first international flight in over 20 months, traveling to Los Angeles. "I’m taking a flight for the first time in one year and eight months. I am nervous," he reportedly shared with reporters at the airport. J-Hope’s journey included a stop in his hometown of Gwangju to reconnect with friends and family before heading to the U.S.

In Los Angeles, J-Hope quickly embraced the Halloween festivities, sharing a playful "trick or treat" post featuring a bowl of candy on his Instagram. He also treated himself to a lavish meal, enjoying a tomahawk steak with charred lemon and rosemary, capturing the experience for his fans. Beyond Halloween, J-Hope explored LA's vibrant culture, visiting a perfumery and sharing stunning shots of flowers and street art, offering fans glimpses of his adventures through social media.

Since his discharge on October 17, J-Hope has been reconnecting with fans worldwide. In March, while serving, he stayed active with the release of 'HOPE ON THE STREET Vol. 1,' a six-track EP and a six-episode docu-series. This project showcased his passion for dance and his journey to connect with dancers globally. As the second BTS member to complete military service — following Jin, who greeted him with a warm embrace on his discharge day — J-Hope now continues his journey. With other BTS members still in service, the group is expected to reunite in 2025, much to the anticipation of fans.
