KARACHI:

Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar visited the Safe City Authority to review various aspects of the project. He was accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Home Iqbal Memon, Project Director IT, and other senior officials.

The home minister directed that the project should start from the airport and emphasised that the surrounding areas should be fully covered under the Safe City project while Sharea Faisal and the Red Zone should be included in the project later.

He stated that the cameras installed under the Safe City project would prove to be an effective tool against crime. He mentioned that once criminals are caught on camera, their escape options would be limited, and the project would further ensure the security of citizens.
