QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti urged students to counter terrorism through positive social media engagement. He vowed to defeat extremism by promoting education. "We will build institutions in the name of our martyrs and defeat terrorists with our determination."

Bugti highlighted the importance of Allama Iqbal's philosophy for the youth at an Iqbal Day speech competition at the Taameer e Nau College in Quetta. He expressed concern over some elements sitting abroad attempting to misguide young Baloch youths against the state through propaganda.

Bugti stressed that youth must embrace Iqbal's concept of "Khudi" (selfhood) to discern truth from lies, urging them to rely on knowledge and research. The Cm further emphasised that Pakistan is the unifying identity for all its citizens, transcending ethnic and regional identities.

"We are first Pakistanis, and then Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhi, or Saraiki," he remarked.
