Netflix has officially announced that the fifth and final season of Stranger Things will debut in 2025, as shared in a press release on Nov. 6, also known as "Stranger Things Day." Marking the anniversary of Will Byers' (Noah Schnapp) fictional disappearance into the Upside Down, the announcement was accompanied by a video revealing the titles of the season's last eight episodes. Among these titles are “The Crawl,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” and notably, the final episode titled “The Rightside Up.”
The final episode’s title seems to mirror “The Upside Down,” which concluded Season 1 and introduced the parallel dimension central to the series' mystery. The season 5 finale, “The Rightside Up,” could suggest a reversal or closure to Hawkins’ supernatural upheavals. Additionally, titles like “The Vanishing of…” appear to evoke Season 1’s “The Vanishing of Will Byers,” sparking speculation about potential plot callbacks. Fans are hypothesizing that the title may imply a new character abduction, possibly Holly Wheeler, Mike’s (Finn Wolfhard) younger sister. Although fan theories point to casting details involving Evil Dead Rise actor Nell Fisher, Netflix has not confirmed these speculations.
Other titles are likely references to Hawkins landmarks and supernatural elements. “The Turnbow Trap” may allude to Turnbow Land Development & Realty, a fictional business teased in Instagram posts by co-creator Ross Duffer. Meanwhile, “Escape From Camazotz” nods to Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time, suggesting influences from the classic sci-fi novel.
The show will take place in the fall of 1987, four years after the events of Season 1, creating an eight-year narrative journey from the show’s debut in 2016 to its conclusion in 2025. Fans
