American media liberals outraged as Trump gains swing states while Kamala Harris remains silent
The surge of support for Donald Trump has left liberal media figures and Kamala Harris supporters nearly in meltdown mode as the Republican nominee edges closer to a win in the U.S. presidential election.
MSNBC commentator Joy Reid launched into a heated rant live on air as Florida overwhelmingly backed Trump, criticizing voters and describing the state as being under the control of an "extremist, right-wing, fascist-type government."
"Think about the last two weeks and the things that Donald Trump has said into the TV that people could hear him say and do," she said, growing more frustrated. "The vulgarity in front of families with young children and the threats to do mass deportation and a violent start to his dictatorship on day one, you name it."
Following Reid's remarks on the MSNBC 'Election Night' panel, former White House Communications Director Nicole Wallace maintained that Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris were still in a "dead heat" — even as Trump led in the polls and secured swing states like North Carolina and Georgia.
"It was always going to be a blue wall night," she stated, declining to acknowledge that pivotal state Pennsylvania, with 19 Electoral College votes, was leaning toward Trump with over 90% of votes counted and ultimately granted all its votes to the Republican.
Meanwhile, CNN political analyst and former Obama staffer Van Jones appeared on the verge of tears as vote tallies continued to favor Trump.
The 56-year-old has shown visible emotion on air multiple times, and viewers had humorously speculated on social media before election night that he might break down in tears regardless of the outcome.
