Queen Camilla, 77, has canceled all public engagements following a recent health issue. Buckingham Palace confirmed Tuesday that the Queen is unwell with a chest infection and has been advised by her doctors to take a short period of rest.

This temporary pause in her schedule means she will be absent from several key events this week. However, she hopes to recover in time to attend the weekend’s Remembrance events, including the annual Festival of Remembrance and the Cenotaph service in London.

A Palace spokesperson stated, "Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest. With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal." Queen Camilla also expressed her apologies to anyone affected by her absence.

The Queen's illness comes shortly after her return from a royal tour in Australia and Samoa with King Charles III. The couple’s trip included a stopover in India and marked King Charles’s first visit to Australia as monarch.

Due to her condition, Queen Camilla will miss the Field of Remembrance ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, where the Duchess of Gloucester will represent her. She has also withdrawn from a Buckingham Palace reception honoring Olympic and Paralympic athletes, which will be hosted by King Charles.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer extended well-wishes on social media, stating, "On behalf of the whole country, I wish Her Majesty The Queen a speedy recovery."
