Traffic inspector dies in road crash
A traffic Police Inspector, Awais Khan, lost his life in a traffic accident at Sukh Nehr Chowk while on the way to his duty in Garhi Shahu.
The accident occurred when a tractor-trolley loaded with soil ran over him.
Despite being rushed to the Shalamar Hospital, Awais succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trolley fled from the scene after the accident.
Senior traffic officials visited the hospital and conveyed the department's solidarity with the family of the victim.
In another incident, Traffic Warden Rizwan, stationed in the Khayaban-e-Jinnah sector, passed away at his home due to cardiac arrest.
Meanwhile, at least six people died, whereas 1,431 were injured in 1,328 road traffic crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.
The statistics showed that 275 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 326 people, followed by 92 in Multan with 97 victims and 83 in Faisalabad with 73 victims.
