Influential booked for 'misbehaving with cops' secures interim bail

The 2nd Additional District and Sessions Judge approved his interim bail against a surety of Rs20,000.

The son of Saleem Bajari, a close aide of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who had hurled abuses and threats to policemen in Hyderabad on October 30, has secured interim bail. Arsalan Bajari, although not directly nominated in the FIR with his name, was caught on camera abusing and threatening personnel of 15 Madadgar police in Qasimabad in the wee hours of October 30.

Later, an FIR was registered at Qasimabad police station on the state's complaint, booking police constables Gada Hussain, Sarwar Lashari and Yaseen Lashari besides one unknown under sections 353, 504, 147 and 149 of Pakistan Penal Code. The accused were providing security to Arsalan, referred to as a relative of Bajari, who can be heard in the video introducing himself as Bajari's son.

The 2nd Additional District and Sessions Judge approved his interim bail against a surety of Rs20,000. Meanwhile, the public prosecutor and Hyderabad police have been directed to submit the police paper at the next hearing on November 11.

According to the FIR, the cops were conducting snap checking late night on October 29 in Qasimabad. At around 1.45am on October 30, the snap checking squad stopped a vehicle coming from Naseem Nagar side and seemingly heading towards Sheedi Goth area.

"The person driving the vehicle rolled down the glasses and in a threatening way he introduced himself as a relative of Saleem Bajari," the complainant stated. "How dare the police stop my vehicle. I carry four ASIs like you in my dala [deck of double cabin vehicle] as my security guards," the young man specifically mentioned.
