HYDERABAD:

A man and his wife were shot dead allegedly for honour in Larkana district on Tuesday while police detained two suspects in connection with the homicide. The couple was attacked by six men riding on motorbikes in Baitul Mal Colony area within the remits of Daray police station.

The victims, identified as Nazeer Ahmed Kodrani and his wife Farzana Zangejo, had married out of their free will a few months ago. They allegedly used to receive threats from the Zangejo family. The couple was returning from a hearing in the district court when the suspected attacked them. DSP Paras Bakrani cited personal enmity as the apparent motive behind the killings. "There is likelihood that the couple has been killed for honour," he added.

The bodies were handed over to the family for burial after postmortem at Chandka hospital. An FIR of the brutal killing could not be registered by Tuesday night. SSP Larkana Mir Rohail Khan Khoso told the local media that DSP Bakrani has been assigned investigation of the case.
