Olympian Alica Schmidt reveals intimate ‘first and only tattoo’

German Olympic runner Alica Schmidt recently marked a new milestone by debuting her first tattoo.

Schmidt, 25, participated in her first Olympics in Paris this summer, competing in the mixed 4x400m relay. Though she had previously been a reserve in Tokyo in 2021, Schmidt was controversially selected over her teammate Luna Bulmahn for the women’s 4x400m relay, raising some eyebrows. Unfortunately, her team didn’t advance past the heats in either event. Reflecting on her Olympic experience, Schmidt described the three-week trip as an "emotional rollercoaster."


To commemorate her participation, Schmidt chose to get her "first and only tattoo," revealing it in an Instagram story.
 


She teased fans with a selfie captioned, "About to do something..." and later shared a video from the tattoo session, showcasing Berlin’s iconic Fernsehturm in the background.
 


The final reveal featured the Olympic rings tattooed on her thigh, accompanied by Schmidt’s caption: "I’m sooo happy!! It turned out exactly how I wanted it."
