WATCH: Rajpal Yadav grabs journalist's phone over Diwali firecracker question

Rajpal Yadav apologizes for his Diwali firecracker remarks after snatching a journalist's phone during an interview.

Rajpal Yadav is back to entertain audiences with his role as Chhota Pandit in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, receiving praise from cinephiles for his performance. However, the actor-comedian recently sparked controversy surrounding his comments about Diwali firecrackers.

Yadav had shared a video urging fans to refrain from bursting firecrackers due to their impact on air and noise pollution. Following backlash, he deleted the original video and issued an apology in another post.

The situation escalated when a journalist from a prominent Hindi publication accused Yadav of snatching their camera during an interview. The reporter claimed that Yadav attempted to throw their phone when questioned about the Diwali controversy.

In the video, Rajpal Yadav is seen surrounded by a group of people when a reporter asks about his upcoming projects. Yadav responds, “You can expect to see one film every one and a half months.” The reporter then references his earlier Diwali statement, prompting Yadav to cover the camera with his hand before the question could be completed.

In his apology video posted on Instagram, Yadav expressed his heartfelt wishes for a joyful Diwali. He stated, “If anyone's feelings have been hurt by the video I posted two days ago, I sincerely apologise. Let’s celebrate Diwali safely and joyfully.”

In his caption, Yadav emphasized, “I sincerely apologize. My intention was never to diminish the joy of Diwali. Let’s come together to make this festival special for everyone!”
