Hollywood actress Anya Taylor-Joy and her musician husband, Malcolm McRae, were targeted in a burglary while staying at a north London mansion, according to The Standard.

The incident, which took place on February 12, 2023, involved two masked intruders who allegedly smashed glass to enter the property, attempting to access the bedroom where Taylor-Joy and McRae were located. The home was also occupied by McRae's bandmate Kane Ritchotte at the time.

The prime suspect, identified as 42-year-old Kirk Holdrick, is currently on remand and has pleaded not guilty to charges of burglary. Holdrick, reportedly being held at Gartree Prison in Leicestershire, is due for trial at Wood Green Crown Court in London in September 2025. Legal restrictions on reporting the incident were lifted by Judge Kalyani Kaul KC following a challenge by The Standard, allowing further details of the case to be shared publicly.

Although Taylor-Joy and the others were left shaken by the experience, no one was physically harmed. The mansion, according to reports, is not owned by the couple but by a well-known public figure whose identity remains confidential for legal reasons.

Anya Taylor-Joy, a rising star in Hollywood, gained popularity with her 2015 role in The Witch and later starred in notable films such as Split, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Dune: Part Two. Her television credits include Peaky Blinders and the acclaimed Netflix series The Queen's Gambit.
