If the constant hype around Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum has proved anything, it's that it is a ceaseless force. With memes flooding the internet with the release of every new episode, even the cast members have begun to take notice. Among those actors is the all-time favourite Bushra Ansari, who took to her vlogging channel on YouTube to reference a meme made for her character Shagufta and her freshly polished nails.

Regarding the character herself, Bushra had many strong opinions to share. "I loathe the mother that I play in the serial. My mood sours when I look at my own face on the screen. I warned Badar Mehmood to never give me a role like this again, and he promised me a hip-hop auntie's role in the future," she joked. "Now, see. You have to do all kinds of roles. I've been a witch and a queen; a character is a character," she further clarified.

Flashing her trimmed nails to the camera, the Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat actor mentioned coming across Instagram users' response to her French manicure making a cameo in the drama. "If shooting prolongs for eight to nine months then I deserve to indulge my desires at some point. So yes, I had a manicure done," she admitted.

She then cited a sequence from episode 32, which required more time than one could've imagined. "During winters, we shot the moment when Rubab kicks us (the mother- and father-in-law) out of her home. And then the instance when she slams the cake in Adeel's face, that happened in the summers. Now you imagine, continuity was maintained within that single scene," Bushra revealed.

She also added that shooting in the summers was particularly difficult due to the layers of clothing that the actors were wrapped in, commenting that the heat was absolutely getting the best of them.

"So anyway, during the months spanning the filming, I went to the UK. There, I had that French manicure done," she said. "Oh, and I make sure not to paint my nails red, though I have the habit of painting my toenails as well. So, for instance, if I'm playing the role of a middle-class woman, then I put on peach nail polish, which is hardly visible. However, I am careful about not putting it on the nails of my hands. But I did get that French manicure done, and everyone spotted it."

The actor also confessed to having qualms about how "mature women", especially mothers, are usually vilified in drama serials. However, she also observed the contrast between Shagufta and Sharjeena's mother, who has a more "positive" bearing.
