After his release on a 15-year probation sentence, Young Thug recently took to social media, stirring speculation with a pair of cryptic tweets.

“Real plea deal jack!” he posted, referencing his plea in the YSL RICO case, followed by, “Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter,” possibly teasing a collaboration with Lil Baby, known as "Wham."

While the tweets were brief, they sent fans into a frenzy, with many interpreting them as subtle shade toward Gunna, who had faced similar accusations after accepting his own plea deal nearly two years ago.

Speculation surrounding a rift between the two rappers has been ongoing, given Gunna's previous plea deal and persistent accusations of “snitching,” which he has repeatedly denied. Throughout the case, Gunna advocated for Young Thug's freedom and continued to show loyalty to his mentor.

Yet, fans believe Thugger’s “real plea deal” reference may call Gunna’s past choices into question.

Adding complexity, Young Thug's lawyer Brian Steel recently requested that Thugger be allowed to continue working with Gunna, despite the conditions of his probation limiting contact with YSL affiliates.

“[They] are contractually obligated. And they frequently perform music together,” Steel remarked, praising Gunna as “a phenomenal artist.” The judge approved the exception, permitting collaboration between the duo even amid probation restrictions.

Fans are divided in their interpretations of Young Thug’s tweets.

Some believe the “real plea deal” comment is a jab at Gunna, while others think the mention of “rats” could point to his “pushin’ Peter” lyric from 'BUSINESS IS BUSINESS', where Thugger's track with Drake, "Parade on Cleveland," includes a jail call that hints at deeper layers. Amid these theories, Jeffery's father and other YSL sources have also defended Gunna, adding further ambiguity to the situation.

While fans eagerly await a musical response addressing these hints, many also speculate that Thugger’s tweets may be misinterpreted, and that a potential collaboration with Gunna could prove their ongoing alliance.
