Matthew Lewis, known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter series, recently shared insights at Rhode Island Comic Con on why he believes the young cast avoided the pitfalls that often impact child actors.

Reflecting on his experience, Lewis, 35, credited the tight-knit friendships with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as a grounding influence, helping them navigate the pressures of fame together. He explained that many child actors face challenges due to working alone, while the Harry Potter cast had each other to share both the joys and anxieties of stardom.

“It was wonderful having friends who understood what we were going through,” Lewis remarked, emphasizing how the group’s support kept them focused and grounded. Despite fond memories, Lewis is hesitant to revisit the franchise, mentioning that he’d only consider returning if it offered a fresh take on his character as an adult.
