ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan's national flag carrier, the PIA, is up for sale. Meanwhile, another Saudi airline has applied for government approval to begin international flight operations from Pakistan.

According to sources, Flyadeal has submitted an application to the Ministry of Aviation, seeking permission to operate direct flights from various airports in Pakistan to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia's official airline, Saudi Air, already operates direct flights from Pakistan.
