HYDERABAD:

A doctor was shot dead while two of his associates were injured in an assault on his clinic by a relative in Badin district on Sunday.

According to the police, the suspect Sikandar Memon allegedly shot dead his uncle Dr Abid Memon due to a property dispute. Shahbaz and Haider Ali were injured.

Sikandar later surrendered at Nando police station where an FIR was also lodged nominating him besides Ashfaq Memon and Iqbal Memon.

Sikandar had barged into his uncle's clinic and opened indiscriminate fire with a pistol critically injuring him and two other people, Shahbaz and Hairder Ali, and fled.

The local citizens, with the help of the police, rushed Dr Memon, Shahbaz, and Haider Ali to a local hospital. However, Dr Memon, due to his precarious condition, was referred to District Headquarters (DHQ) Indus Hospital in Badin. The doctors of DHQ hospital declared Dr Memon dead on arrival (DoA).

According to police sources, the accused Sikander Memon fled from the spot after the shooting incident but later he surrendered before Nandu police station with a pistol and he was arrested. A case of murder has been registered against three persons Ashfaq Memon and Iqbal Memon along with accused Sikandar Memon at Nandu police station.
