False news plagues social media: MQM-P
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has termed social media a tricky highway full of potholes of misinformation.
MQM-P on Sunday night organised a meeting of its social media team officials and workers on the road adjacent to its Central Election Office.
Senior central leader Syed Mustafa Kamal addressing the meeting said, "we need to develop our strugle on modern lines. MQM-P no longer needs to go door to door to convey its philosophy. An organisation's philosophy can be communicated to people through social media."
The social media team of MQM-P will keep the nation informed about the political facts and create awareness about the party.
He said that the need of the hour is to counter the propaganda against the state of Pakistan as well as the party on the social media platform.
Kamal said that online 'terrorists' were spreading false narratives through social media for creating anarchy and chaos in the country. He blamed PTI for enticing people through the social media against national security institutions. However, he said employment, health, education and basic public issues are not part of the 'trends' of PTI social media.
He said that how many people know that 28 innocent men, women and children are buried outside Hyderabad Puca Qila? Who will tell the people about the Puca Qila killings, and other such incidents targeting the heirs of the founders of Pakistan?
MQM-P believes in politics free from bias, Kamal said turning his guns to Pakistan Peoples Party(PPP). He said PPP has displayed prejudice towards people of the urban areas in all sectors including economy, education, health, transport.
MQM-P senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that social media can pave the way for real democracy. Anees Ahmed Qaim Khani said, "we have to adapt ourselves to ever changing world to carry forward out political and ideological mission." In-charge COC Farqan Tayyab said through social media we can deliver our message to every corner of Pakistan.
