During the UFC Edmonton broadcast, a somber revelation left fans and UFC members stunned: Derek Thompson had tragically passed away at the age of 39.
His colleagues are feeling the weight of his absence, as tributes poured in from across the mixed martial arts community. Megan Olivi of the UFC shared a heartfelt tribute on X, stating, “Derek was our gentle giant. We worked together on so many events, sharing old-school lyrics and great meals. His loss is deeply felt, not just in production but throughout the entire company.”
