HYDERABAD:

The police have arrested a lady doctor for misbehaving with the polio workers while resisting immunisation of children in her hospital in Badin district on Saturday. Dr Zarqa Pathan has also been booked in an FIR at Model police station on the state complaint.

A video of the incident was also shared on social media, showing the doctor speaking furiously with polio workers. She even resisted the cops who were later called to assist the polio team. The doctor allegedly slapped one of the polio workers.

ASI Zulfiqar Ali Jatoi along with other cops reached the hospital and tried to calm down the doctor but she did not cooperate. The polio team complained to the police that they tried to give polio drops to children in the hospital but the facility's owner Dr Pathan objected. "Dr Zarqa and her daughter in law manhandled us [polio workers]," they alleged.
