Bushra Bibi reaches K-P CM House in Peshawar
Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, has arrived in Peshawar after a brief stay in Lahore.
Sources said she reached the Chief Minister's House in Peshawar after moving from Zaman Park in Lahore.
Following her release from Adiala Jail, Bushra Bibi initially moved to Bani Gala before traveling to Peshawar.
She met with Imran Khan in Rawalpindi and subsequently returned to Lahore, where she stayed at Zaman Park.
Bushra Bibi plans to undergo dental treatment in Peshawar and will reportedly refrain from political engagements, including the protest scheduled in Swabi on November 9.
Peition filed for acquittal in Toshakhana Case
Meanwhile, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have filed petitions for acquittal in the Toshakhana Case.
The special judge, Shahrukh Arjumand, presided over the hearing at Adiala Jail.
The court did not impose charges on the accused, with their legal team—including Salman Safdar and Salman Akram Raja—submitting power of attorney documents and requests for acquittal.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) opposed the acquittal requests, claiming intentional delays in the charge process.
FIA prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi stated that the filing of acquittal petitions does not hinder the case proceedings.
The court has issued notices to the parties involved and adjourned the hearing until November 5.
FIA challenges IHC bail decision in SC
On the other hand, the FIA has challenged the Islamabad High Court's decision of granting bail to Bushra Bibi, filing an appeal in the Supreme Court.
The agency argues that the high court failed to consider evidence suggesting Bashira Bibi’s involvement in the case related to a Bulgari jewelry set that was not deposited in the Toshakhana.
The FIA contends that, despite her gender, Bushra Bibi's alleged criminal record disqualifies her from bail, seeking to have the high court's October 23 decision overturned.
