Young Thug has officially regained his freedom. Following a prolonged and intense trial, the rapper accepted a plea deal and was released from prison yesterday.

His return home comes with a 15-year probation sentence and a series of other release conditions, marking the end of his long legal journey.

The hip-hop community is celebrating the news, and his peers have voiced their joy over his release. YSL Woody, a key figure in the trial, shared his excitement online, writing, “Thank you God [prayer emoji],” on his Instagram Story last night.

Woody has faced scrutiny recently for his role in the trial, especially after admitting in August that he falsely implicated Young Thug in a series of crimes dating back to 2015. This was reportedly done to avoid his own legal consequences.

Since then, he has publicly called for Young Thug’s release and even issued a heartfelt apology for his past actions, expressing remorse for the pain and challenges he caused.

“The pain, the suffering, everything I’ve caused on him and his family,” Woody shared. “I wish I had the mindset and the strength that I have now. I’ll never forgive myself. I took him through a process that I never should have took him through. Even though I know I’m not the cause of it, despite how anybody may feel, it’s wrong.”

Under the conditions of his release, Young Thug is restricted from having contact with alleged gang members or YSL affiliates.

However, exceptions have been made for his brother, Quantavious Grier, and fellow artist Gunna, with whom he specifically requested permission to collaborate on music.
