LHC seeks assistance in SC ordinance case
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought assistance from the AGP and the Punjab advocate general on a petition filed against the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Ordinance, 2024.
The presidential decree promulgated on September 20 changed the composition of a three-member Supreme Court committee that forms benches and lists cases.
On Friday, a single-member bench of the LHC, comprising Chief Justice Aalia Neelum took up the petition filed by Munir Ahmed through Azhar Siddique Advocate. Siddique contended that issuing an ordinance in the presence of the assembly was not in accordance with the law.
