Two murder convicts get death penalty
The Sessions Courts has sentenced two individuals to death for murder and imposed heavy fines and sentenced the accused to imprisonment in three separate drug trafficking cases.
The court declared that murder is a heinous crime and there is no room for leniency when substantial evidence is presented. In both murder cases, the convicted individuals received death sentences along with fines of Rs1 million.
Additional Sessions Judge in Taxila sentenced Imdadullah to death and fined him Rs500,000 for the brutal murder of his wife. The Saddar Wah police registered the case in 2022 and arrested the suspect, along with the murder weapon. In a separate murder case, the court sentenced Shahid to death, along with a Rs500,000 fine, for killing his brother-in-law, Mujahid Khan, over a domestic dispute.
In three drug trafficking cases, the court sentenced convicts to a total of 27 years in prison and imposed fines of Rs240,000. In the first case, lady drug smuggler Sarina Bibi and accomplice Zeeshan received nine-year prison sentences and fines of Rs80,000 each. Sarina Bibi was arrested last year by Saddar Wah police with 2.6 kg of hashish, while Zeeshan was held with 1.6 kg of hashish this year.
