Eva Longoria has earned more than $12 million from her investment in the original John Wick movie, a decision that saved the film and launched one of Hollywood’s most successful action franchises. Longoria recently revealed to Business Insider that her $6 million contribution filled a crucial financing gap just hours before production was set to halt.

She confessed that her decision was made on impulse rather than any calculated financial foresight, inspired by the passion and dedication of directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch.

“Looking back, I didn’t know anything about gap financing,” Longoria admitted, adding, “But they were undeniably passionate, and I knew they were going to make an undeniable product.” Despite not securing a stake in the sequels, Longoria has continued to receive royalty checks from the franchise’s success, as John Wick has since grossed over $1 billion worldwide across four films.

Reflecting on her role in the franchise, Longoria jokingly lamented, “What I’m really pissed off about is not being attached to all the films.” Although not part of the sequels, Longoria remains in touch with star Keanu Reeves, who recently invited her to toast the franchise’s success as it marks a decade since its release.
