SCCI, SIDB to set up CWFF at SIE Peshawar
The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Small Industrial Development Board (SIDB) have agreed to establish a carpet washing and finishing facility (CWFF) at the Small Industrial Estate (SIE) on Kohat Road, Peshawar.
This decision followed a meeting between SCCI President Fazal Moqeem Khan and SIDB Managing Director Habibullah Arif at SIE, with SCCI Senior Vice President Abdul Jalil Jan and members of the Small Industrialists Association also present. The meeting included carpet exporters, SIDB Deputy Managing Directors Zulfiqar Ali and Nauman Fayyaz, and other officials.
Prior to the meeting, participants visited various SIE sites to identify a suitable location for the CWFF, which is proposed to be housed at the Pak Holland Metal Project site. The facility, envisioned as a Common Facilities Center (CFC), will offer carpet exporters services for washing and finishing raw carpets.
SCCI will present a comprehensive proposal for the CWFF, which will be submitted for approval at the upcoming SIDB Board of Directors meeting. Additionally, SIDB expressed willingness to set up a similar CFC for the SCCI's honey cluster in Pashtoon Garhi near Pabbi. The meeting appointed Nauman Fayaz from SIDB and Sohail Anjum from SCCI to coordinate these projects.
