The Pakistan Navy ship PNS Zulfiqar has successfully rescued 23 fishermen from an Iranian fishing vessel, Al-Mohammadi, in the Gulf of Aden.

According to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Navy, PNS Zulfiqar was deployed for regional maritime security patrols when it received a distress call from the Iranian vessel, which was 1,200 nautical miles from its port due to engine failure.

Upon establishing contact, the vessel reported that one crew member was seriously injured and that the engine had broken down, prompting an urgent request for assistance.

In response, PNS Zulfiqar promptly dispatched its medical and technical teams to the fishing vessel. The teams provided initial medical aid to the injured fisherman, who had sustained a severe hand injury while attempting to repair the engine.

Additionally, the medical teams examined two other unwell crew members, administering necessary medical assistance, and the ship's crew also assisted in repairing the vessel's engine.

This operation highlights the commitment of the Pakistan Navy to ensuring maritime safety and responding to emergencies in the region.
