RIYADH:

Pakistan's ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to the kingdom turned out to be successful during which he held meetings with Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and the investment minister.

He said that during the PM's visit to KSA, as many as 34 MoUs worth $2.8 billion were signed and discussions were underway to give the contracts a concrete shape. The Pakistani envoy in Saudi Arabia said that individuals involved in criminal activities in the kingdom must go through a specific process. The Saudi government typically releases prisoners during Ramazan and Eid as a gesture of goodwill.

He said that those who bring shame to the country face consequences, including having their passports blocked for seven years.

Meanwhile, the Saudi information ministry has launched a world solidarity program in Riyadh. Pakistan's culture week will start from October 30 till November 2. Pakistani singers Ali Zafar and Asim Azhar will perform in the event.
