Liam Payne's posthumous track gets delayed

Singer's legacy will continue with new release

As the world continues to mourn the passing of Liam Payne, US singer Sam Pounds recently announced that he and the former One Director member had been working on a project together, not long before Liam's departure from this world. The song, titled Do No Wrong, was set to be released on November 1.

"I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed. I pray angels will comfort you all every day while listening. I pray that this song will be a blessing to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family. I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes. I pray supernatural positive healing power will embrace every one of you. Pre-save links here. With love. Let's all be the blessing," Sam wrote on X.

The cover art featured a man with wings, taking flight and dripping blood in his ascent, as a big broken heart hovered over his figure. Although the collaborator confirmed that the track was going to be released on Friday, new developments have since come to light. Sam took to X again to share an update.

"Today, I'm deciding to hold Do No Wrong and leave those liberties up to all family members. I want all proceeds to go to a charity of their choosing (or however they desire). Even though we all love the song, it's not the time yet. We are all still mourning the passing of Liam, and I want the family to mourn in peace and in prayer. We will all wait. With love," he said.

Earlier, the singer shared his own tribute to Liam on Instagram through a generous thread post featuring the deceased artist and his sister Ruth Gibbins. In the bittersweet footage, Liam was captured during mirthful moments in a recording studio and on his days out with friends and loved ones.

"I can't believe I'm writing this post. I can't believe you are gone in this way," lamented Sam in the caption. "This is how I'll always remember you, brother. As the happy, funny, and talented brother, father, and friend. Praying for my sweet, kind sister, Ruth Gibbins. We love you."

He further tagged creative director Conor Butler in the post, writing, "My guy, praying for you as well. We made some awesome and beautiful music together that will live on forever. Love you, bro! RIP."
