TANDO ALLAHYAR:

An incident of fight took place between Tando Allahyar Civil Hospital doctors and lawyers late at night related to the issue of a patient who was brought in the emergency ward. Following the incident, a large group of lawyers gathered at the hospital. Police was called immediately and a large force was deployed to control the situation and maintain the peace.

Later on Tuesday, lawyers boycotted court proceedings in protest. On the other hand, the doctors also boycotted the outpatient department (OPD) and held a protest in front of the main gate of the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital.

Speaking to the media, lawyer Muzamil Shah shared that he and his father, lawyer Deedar Shah, took her sister to the emergency ward of the Civil Hospital to seek medical help who was experiencing breathing difficulties. The doctor on duty showed inappropriate behaviour and refused to administer an injection without examining the patient. Muzamil explained to the doctor that his sister was receiving treatment in Hyderabad and requested that she be given oxygen to stabilize her condition before they transported her. Instead, the doctor responded with verbal abuse and called a security guard, who pushed us. After that, fellow lawyer also reached the hospital and reported the doctor's unprofessional behaviour to the higher authorities. However, no corrective action was taken.

Meanwhile, during the protest at DHQ Hospital, Dr Ali Khan Baloch, Ali Nawaz Kalro, and other medical staff strongly denounced the lawyers' behaviour. They particularly mentioned that the doctors at the hospital feel unsafe, as they face such behaviour from the patients and their attendants on daily basis.
