Punjab wins first position in junior category in Islamabad event

Army clinched the overall top position and gold medal as a team while PAF bagged a silver and Higher Education Commission (HEC) and KPK finished with bronze medals as the Combaxx 17th Korean Ambassador Cadet and Senior National Taekwondo Championship 2024 concluded here in grand style at the Liaquat Gymnasium Sports Complex, Islamabad.

In the junior category, Punjab bagged the top position while second position was clinched by KPK and Islamabad won the third position.

In the senior category Army bagged the top position while HEC was runner-up and WAPDA finished with third position.

In the under 73kg event for females contested on Tuesday, Ariba (HEC) bagged a gold medal while Memoona (KPK) won a silver and Rifat (Police) and Eman Rashid (Army) aged a bronze medal each

In +73 kg category for females, Manisha Ali (HEC) won a gold medal while a silver medal was won by Nida Fatima (WAPDA). Aiman (Islamabad) and Pakeeza Khan (KPK) won a bronze each.

In the males under 87 category, Ikhtisham-ul-Haq (Army) won a gold medal and Adnan Bhatti (WAPDA) won a silver medal. Farhad Khan (KPK) and Tayab Hussain (HEC) bagged a bronze medal each.

In the males +87 kg category, Hamza Saeed (Army) won a gold medal while Waqar Ali Shah (WAPDA) clinched a silver medal. Yasir Barki (HEC) and Tariq Khan (KPK) won a bronze each.

Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, Nadeem Irshad Kayani was the chief guest at the closing ceremony while guests of honour included Koo Bong Kim, Patron in Chief, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, Bilal Riaz Barki, Joint Secretary, Omar Saeed, CEO, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, Farah Saeed, Executive Member, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation and Murtaza Hassan Bangash, Secretary General, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation

Col (r) Waseem Ahmed Janjua, President, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation later thanked Combaxx as the title sponsor and expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Korean Ambassador H.E. Park Ki Jun for their support.
