SC urged totake up military court case

One of the petitioners who had moved the Supreme Court against trial of over one hundred May 9, 2023 rioters in military courts has requested the SC to list the review petition filed against its October 2023 order in the second week of November.

The application filed through Advocate Latif Khan Khosa contends that at the last hearing of the review petition in December 2023, the SC had ordered listing of the case in January 2024. However, the case has never been taken up since. Cases of 103 civilians remain unresolved due to pending trials; Article 9 of the Constitution ensures citizens' right to freedom, it adds.
