‘Ketamine Queen’ Jasveen Sangha awaits trial in Matthew Perry overdose case
Jasveen Sangha, accused of supplying the ketamine that led to actor Matthew Perry’s fatal overdose, is awaiting trial in Los Angeles after her August indictment. Known as the “Ketamine Queen,” Sangha allegedly maintained an operation from her North Hollywood apartment for over five years, according to court documents. Prosecutors allege that Sangha’s apartment served as a distribution point for various illegal substances, including ketamine, methamphetamine, and cocaine, which were discovered during a March 2024 raid.
The court records link Sangha to Perry's death, stating that she first contacted the actor’s assistant in late 2023, sending a sample vial of ketamine. Later, Perry purchased 50 vials, reportedly with the help of two intermediaries who have since pleaded guilty. Martin Estrada, a U.S. attorney involved in the case, emphasized the risks, saying, "Drug dealers selling dangerous substances are gambling with other people’s lives over greed." Defense attorney Mark Geragos, however, questioned the evidence, asserting, "Just because it’s a tragedy doesn’t mean it’s criminal.”
Sangha, known for showcasing a lavish lifestyle on social media, has pled not guilty and is held without bail as she awaits a March 2025 trial. Her social media activity, including posts with the hashtag “#ravetothegrave,” prompted prosecutors to argue that Sangha remains unrepentant. Sangha’s case has reignited conversations around celebrity overdoses, with authorities stressing accountability in the illegal drug trade.
