Explosion at fireworks factory kills one, injures three others in Charsadda
An explosion at a fireworks factory in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Charsadda district has resulted in the death of one person and injuries to three others, Express News reported.
According to the police, the explosion occurred in the factory located in the Ghareebabad area within the jurisdiction of the City Police Station, resulting in one death and three injuries, including a woman.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, rescue teams transported the injured to Charsadda Hospital for medical assistance.
Rescue 1122 reported that the explosion took place during the preparation of fireworks materials, and they acted promptly to rescue the injured.
Earlier a significant fire at a tissue paper factory in Peshawar’s Industrial Estate continued to blaze uncontrollably, even after nearly 24 hours of firefighting efforts.
Rescue officials reported that the fire broke out in the Hayatabad area, and despite extensive firefighting measures, certain sections of the factory remained engulfed in flames.
Over 25 operational vehicles from Rescue 1122, along with more than 100 rescue personnel from Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, and Khyber district, were actively working to combat the fire.
The incident inflicted considerable damage to the factory building.
During the firefighting operation, around 18 rescue workers experienced health issues due to hazardous conditions; however, they received medical treatment and were reported to be recovering.
