Shaquille O'Neal faces backlash for comments on WNBA star Angel Reese's outfit

Shaquille O'Neal, the retired NBA legend, is under scrutiny following remarks he made about WNBA player Angel Reese’s outfit on her podcast, Unapologetically Angel.

During the October 24 episode, O'Neal, who has previously referred to Reese as a "father figure," referenced her appearance at a recent Wild 'N Out show, envisioning her dunking in “the same little shorts” she wore during the event. Reese, visibly uncomfortable, attempted to redirect the conversation, but O’Neal continued, later complimenting her as “gorgeous.”
 

The incident has since ignited criticism online, with social media users expressing discomfort over the comments. One user remarked, “Angel Reese learned a painful lesson about men through Shaq,” while another criticized O’Neal for “sexualizing” the young athlete, who is 30 years his junior.

Despite their close bond, Reese’s previous comments to USA Today highlighted O'Neal as a source of support during difficult times. However, the latest episode has prompted discussions about boundaries and respect within professional mentorships.
