Woman's death in hospital stirs protest

The protesters blocked the road from all sides and chanted slogans

A woman who came to a private hospital for delivery died due to the alleged negligence of a lady doctor.

The family and relatives of the deceased protested against the doctor by placing the body of the victim on the road in the District Council Chowk. Police officers reached the spot and negotiated with the protestors and assured them action would be taken, on which the protestors dispersed.

Dozens of people, including women, gathered at District Council Chowk to protest led by of Riyaz, a resident of Chak 219 RB Saianwala against negligence of the lady doctor. Protesters set fire to tires and blocked the road. The protestors claimed that that 20-year-old Zunaira was shifted to a private hospital in Marzipora for delivery.

Zunaira's condition deteriorated and she died after receiving a mismatched blood group transfusion, they alleged.

The protestors said that Zuniara died due to the doctors' negligence and demanded to take action against them.

The protesters blocked the road from all sides and chanted slogans. Upon receiving the information, SHO Rail Bazar and other police officers reached the spot.

The police officers, while negotiating with the protestors, assured them of action, on which the protestors dispersed.

The roadblock lasted for several hours on a holiday, causing difficulties for citizens.
