Internet reacts as Lil Durk arrested before flight to Italy: "iCloud can’t be trusted anymore"
NBC Chicago obtained new documents indicating that Lil Durk was planning to leave for Italy around the time of his arrest. Reports state that the rapper was taken into custody by federal authorities on Friday, October 25, 2024, shortly after five members of his OTF group were also detained.
The FBI shared that U.S. Customs and Border Protection flagged Durk as a passenger on two international flights on Thursday, October 24. One flight was scheduled from Miami to Dubai, and another from Fort Lauderdale to Switzerland. However, Lil Durk did not board either flight.
At the time the tickets were purchased, iCloud records reportedly show Lil Durk advising one of his OTF associates to avoid booking tickets in his name. Later, the rapper reserved a seat on a private flight from Miami to Italy but was detained in South Florida before his departure.
According to the new information, he was arrested "near the departing airport" just an hour before the flight was set to take off. These events unfolded a few days after his performance at the United Center on Sunday, October 20.
People on X, previously known as Twitter, responded to the latest updates on the case. A user wrote:
“Oh nahhh even iCloud can’t be trusted anymore”
"Yeah he's done for, welp he had a good celebrity run 🤷🏿♂️."
"How they get that icloud though🤔🤔I hope apple got an update soon," added a tweet.
"I mean he can be like I was saying don’t involve me," said another one.
NBC Chicago also accessed a criminal complaint against Lil Durk, alleging that he placed "a monetary bounty out" targeting a rival rapper referred to as TB in court records. Although the rival wasn’t injured, his cousin was killed.
The complaint further stated: "Evidence shows that Banks ordered T.B.'s murder and that the hitmen used Banks and OTF-related finances to carry out the murder."
