Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) National Assembly member Zain Qureshi announced his resignation as Deputy Parliamentary Leader, citing a recent show-cause notice from his party.

Qureshi made his resignation public on social media platform X on Saturday, explaining that he had responded to the party’s notice.

“In respect of a free and fair inquiry and recognising the sentiments of our supporters, I am stepping down from my role as Deputy Parliamentary Leader,” Qureshi wrote.

He affirmed his continued loyalty to PTI, its founder, and his father, saying, “I was, am, and will remain loyal to my party, my leader, and my father.”

The show-cause notices stemmed from a recent vote on the 26th Constitutional Amendment, which PTI chose to boycott. PTI issued these notices to six members for supporting the amendment despite the party's decision to abstain.
