White man exposed as mastermind behind conspiracy account ‘Black Insurrectionist’

A white man from upstate New York is reportedly behind the X (formerly Twitter) account ‘Black Insurrectionist,’ which circulated false conspiracy theories about Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

According to an Associated Press investigation, the account used a profile photo of a Black soldier and the tagline “I FOLLOW BACK TRUE PATRIOTS,” amassing over 300,000 followers before disappearing on October 17.

Known for its disinformation, it promoted baseless claims about Harris and Walz, some of which were endorsed by figures like Donald Trump, who reportedly praised the account, saying, “I love the person.”

AP identified the account’s operator as 52-year-old Jason G. Palmer, a man with a history of fraud, tax debts over $6.7 million, and a previous FBI raid on his home.

Initially, Palmer claimed he only briefly managed the account and had sold it months ago to an unnamed buyer.

However, he later admitted to AP that he played a recent role in spreading false claims about Walz, identifying himself as a “researcher” in a larger group and stating that a Black friend was the primary operator of the account.

Those familiar with Palmer, including Kathleen Albano—whose late husband was once his business partner—said his involvement was unsurprising, citing his reputation for deception. Albano described him as someone who “ropes people in.”

Palmer’s background includes controversial behavior, with former business associates and legal representatives describing a pattern of conspiratorial claims and misconduct.
