Actor Shah Rukh Khan was disappointed with his helicopter entry in the 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G).

In a recent interview, Nikkhil Advani, who served as an assistant director on K3G, revealed that Shah Rukh Khan had a different vision for the scene.

Shahrukh Khan initially believed he would perform a dramatic jump from the helicopter, but instead, he was directed to simply step out to meet his on-screen mother, played by Jaya Bachchan.

Nikkhil Advani shared the anecdote on a YouTube talk show, highlighting that Shahrukh Khan’s vision didn’t align with the final cut, where the focus was on Jaya Bachchan sensing her son’s arrival.

Known for his dynamic roles, Shahrukh Khan often added his own ideas to scenes, Nikkhil Advani noted, mentioning that Shahrukh Khan even choreographed the basketball scene in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as an action sequence, earning him a credit in the film.

Despite his association with romance on-screen, Shahrukh Khan reportedly harboured a strong desire to explore new genres.

Advani noted that while K3G and other romantic films like Mohabbatein cemented Khan’s reputation as Bollywood’s “King of Romance,” he was always keen to take on different roles.

Looking ahead, Shah Rukh Khan will soon appear in King by Sujoy Ghosh, marking the first time he will share the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan.
