RAWALPINDI:

A day after Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan's spouse Burshra was released on bail in the Toshakhana case, his sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan also walked out on bail in the D-Chowk protest case, leading credence to the deal rumours between the powers that be and the PTI.

During a trail on Friday, Anti-Terrorism Court accepted the bail ples of Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan against the surety bonds of Rs20,000 each in D-Chowk protest case. After submission of surety bonds, the court issued the release orders of Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan and direted the jail superintendent to release them if they were not arrested in any other case.

Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, were arrested on October 4 while they were participating in the PTI's protest rally. A case was registered against them in the Kohsar Police Station.

Both sister were released from the Jhelum Jail and later proceeded to Islamabad. Sources noted that neither central PTI leaders nor party officials were present at Jhelum Jail upon their release.

A day earlier, Bushra Bibi, the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, was released after nine months of detention, following her conviction in a gift repository case on January 31.

While media personnel and PTI workers waited outside the prison to engage with Imran's wife, the former first lady quickly departed without speaking to anyone. However, the workers showered her car with flowers as it sped away. Adviser to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information Barrister MohammadAli Saif said that Bushra Bibi reached Peshawar safely after her release and will stay there for some time.

Strict security arrangements were made during Bushra Bibi's release. She was transported from the jail to the PTI founder's Bani Gala residence in the bulletproof vehicle.

No central leader of the PTI was present at the jail during her release, though a few assistant lawyers showered flower petals on her vehicle. Special security arrangements were made by the police of the twin cities during Bushra Bibi's transfer from jail to Bani Gala.

Later, the former first lady reached Peshawar where she would stay at the Chief Minister's house.
