Allu Arjun’s eagerly awaited sequel, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ has already surpassed $120 million in pre-release earnings before its theatrical debut later this year.

As per reports from Indian media, the follow-up to the hit film ‘Pushpa’ has generated over $120 million through sales of both theatrical and non-theatrical rights, more than a month ahead of its premiere.

The film has earned over $60 million by selling theatrical rights for its original and dubbed versions across India, alongside $15 million from international sales.

In a lucrative deal, the OTT streaming rights were acquired by Netflix for $33 million, while the satellite and music rights fetched $10 million and $8 million, respectively, bringing the non-theatrical revenue to over $48 million.

Film producer Ravi Shankar from Mythri Movie Makers noted, “Pushpa 2 performed well in its non-theatrical business, making $51 million. When we combine this with the theatrical sales, an overall estimate of over $120 million in pre-release revenue seems achievable.”

In other updates, the release of ‘Pushpa 2’, initially set for August 15, has been moved to December 6 due to ongoing shooting and post-production work, but will now hit theaters a day earlier on December 5. The film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.

The sequel features a showdown between Allu Arjun’s character and the primary antagonist, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, played by Fahadh Faasil. Additionally, Rashmika Mandanna reprises her role as Srivalli, Pushpa’s wife, from the first part.
