Goods gutted in warehouse fire

A huge fire broke out in a warehouse in Korangi area within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi police station and turned the valuable goods into ashes. There were cotton, wood, cardboard, foam and chemical drums stored in the warehouse. Chemical drums exploded which intensified the fire. Firefighters from KMC, PARCO, Rescue 1122 and National Refinery doused the flames after the struggle of about one hour. Police and volunteer organisation teams were also present during the firefighting operation.

Fire Officer, Zafar Khan informed the media that the PARCO pipeline was running close to the warehouse. Had the fire reached the pipeline there would have been a disaster. Seeing the intensity of fire, two fire tenders of PARCO also took part in the operation to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire could not be known. No loss of life was reported.
